There are two main options:

  1. History Cooperative. Subscribers to Labour History can view the journal online (from no. 82 – May 2002 onwards) at the History Cooperative website, University of Illinois. See below for more details. Non-subscribers can view all but the latest two issues free of charge; but there is a fee for viewing the latest issues.
  2. JSTOR. The complete back-set of Labour History (excluding the most recent issues) is included in the JSTOR online archives. This is not automatically available to subscribers of the journal, however access can be obtained (by academics, students, and members of the public) via participating libraries and institutions. History Cooperative Information for Subscribers

Institutional Subscribers

If you are connecting from an institution that currently subscribes to Labour History, you will automatically receive access to full online content. This is enabled through the use of institutional IP number ranges and does not require your personal login. If your institution subscribes to the paper journal but you find that you cannot access the full-text online version from your campus, please ask your librarian to fill out the online registration form which will add their institutional IP numbers to the History Coop’s control system. Librarians will find more information at the History Coop’s FAQ page.

Individual Subscribers

If you are not connecting through a subscriber institution, but you are an individual subscriber to the journal, you can set up a personal account to access the Labour History online collection. Simply register with the History Cooperative by using your subscription ID number, as shown on your journal mailing label. Once you have set up your personal account, you can go straight to the History Coop’s login page.

The subscription ID number is only needed the first time you access the online edition. During your first login or any time thereafter, you can set up a personal login and password for future access. Individual subscribers who have problems or need to know their ID number should contact the Labour History Office.
